diffutils 3.9 and gdiffmk

Hi folks,

Someone reported that the new GNU diffutils 3.9 causes gdiffmk's
automated test to fail.

Would someone who has diffutils 3.9 handy like to investigate this
report and possibly suggest a remedy?

Mike Bianchi let me know in private email that he has retired, and would
like someone else to take maintenance of gdiffmk.
