I suggest that numbers are input with `.` to make it uniform. Output,
however, might (and probably should) be adjusted if the users asks for
it. In Germany or Austria, for example, all 'official' sites (banks,
government, etc.) expect
1.234.567,89 €
or
1234567,89 €
