Sure, i amended the text to read as follows in the final commit
which i pushed:

  .Dd <Month> <day>, <year>
      The document date for display in the page footer.  This is the
      mandatory first macro of any -mdoc manual.  The <Month> is the
      full English month name, the <day> is an integer number without a
      leading zero, and the <year> is the full four-digit year, for
      example:
