Style is style.  The one who writes or maintains the code gets to decide.
A suggestion is fine, arguing about it is not.

One-line if without braces is at worst minimally dangerous (if at
all).  I could point to one widely used, public, written coding
style document that explicitly forbids these braces, and to another
one that explicitly allows both forms and requires consistency
within each function, but i won't.  Arguing it is pointless.
