That might just be some "smart quoting" on the part of your MUA.

Here's what I get.

    $ cat ding.tr

That shows PostScript's Times-Roman being used for the commas as F0, and
ZapfDingbats for the `%', ASCII 37, as F1.  Breaking it down more,

    /F0 10 /address@hidden SF
    (,) 72 12 Q
    /F1 10 /ZapfDingbats SF
    (%) A
    F0
    (,) A

Redirecting the output to a file, and viewing it with `gs ding.ps' shows
a phone.
