        Also, you can use the second argument to  .GETST  to
        save the reference into a string and use that in the
        caption.

Now the number of the first figure is included
in the caption of the second figure.

The only problem is that the strings cannot be used
before they are defined. So if a reference has to
be made from the beginning of the document to a
figure (or table) at the end, then GETST must be
moved to a place earlier than the first use of the
string.
