This is puzzling me.  There is no .br anywhere in my code, and what's more
puzzling, my own test code, which made much more use of multiply embedded lists
(although isngly embedded lists were tested) didn't show that blank line at all,
but yours does, and I can't yet see why it should.

Let me puzzle this over a bit more.  I've never seen this before like this, but
I hav e already tried suppressing your use of the "1" parameter, and also tried
other list types, they all show the same thing.

It's gotta be somewhere, but a global search in my macros shows no .br anywhere.
