I now have the following code, that creates a 3 page output.
***NOTE***: I am using the "ms" macros to create it, so that may have
some bearing on the problem. The commandline being executed is (it is
my standard invocation):
groff -etpU -ms -Tps file | ps2pdf - > file.pdf
and the file reads:
