Well, we have `.if n', `.if t', \n[.g] (for groff), and \n[.X] (for
Heirloom troff) to specify that.  Ironically, `.g' and `.X' are
ignored more or less, I think, by man2html and friends.  I would be
glad if my assumption is incorrect.
