I *like* this idea. The devil, as usual, is in the (implementation) details. 
The TOC 
generation for UTP could serve as a reference, I suppose. Keith mentioned that 
UTP's system is inadequate for creating PDFs though; I'd like to hear more 
thoughts on that subject.
