You might try 'pic2plot' (part of GNU plotutils - I don't know if it
supports the colour extensions).

I was wondering if anyone has thought to take the pic code and link it with
something like the GD library so that you could generate pic images from the
source without going through the groff -p | ps2png step.

If not, I may have one of my engineers do it but I don't want to replicate
work which has already been done.
