When stuck for clues it's sometimes helpful to `CVS binary chop'. That
is, work backwards and forewards between two known dates where the
change must have occurred, e.g. 1.18-3 and 1.19.1, doing a `cvs up -D
...' followed by a complete maintainer-clean, etc., and then a,
preferably automated, test.

Onec you've got this set up, it means you can leave it going, consuming
CPU and some bandwidth, until it narrows the time slot down from, say,
a month to several hours. A `cvs diff' of those two times can then shed
further light.

Just an idea.

Cheers,

Ralph.
