Some very simple hacking to the an-old.tmac file provides
a man package that:
- allows complete control of headers and footers
- allows control of the heading font
- is completely transparent otherwise
Rationale: lots of gadgets have embedded CLIs whose
documentation looks a lot like a manpage, but need
different headers, footers, and so on. With some
judicious tweaks in man.local, you can use -man for
those documents while not changing anything for
regular manpages.
Bonus: while poking through an-old.tmac, I came
across a couple of undocumented macros and the
trove of stuff in man.ultrix. The attached tarball also
patches groff_man.man to document the .AT and .UC
macros and groff.texinfo to document them and the
Ultrix stuff. I don't have texinfo on this machine, so
there's undoubtedly a couple of problems with that
patch, but I've tested the others. Patches are against
yesterday's CVS.
