Actually, I've done a bit of background work already.
I OCR'ed the index pages and (after wiping off all the
OCR dirt) fed the result to a series of awk scripts that
left the index entries sorted by page. Thus, the
prospective indexer(s) can hunt for .page xxx tags,
find the proper location for the index entry, and put
it in fairly quickly.

We can also use the same style as before, one person
works on one (or more) chapter(s). I will, as before,
play gatekeeper on that one.

So, unless those who have worked so hard
on this project object, I will lay claim to
indexing the entire UTP.

Oh, no you don't... trying to take all the fun for
yourself? Hmph. :-)
