Enabling images to be presented to grops in forms other than ps might
*enable* improvementes in efficiency to be made. But it certainly does
not happen by itself.

Could be an issue, although I would think that the differences in
efficiency at this stage does not really contribute very much to overall
speed.

In this case, you would not notice much of a difference either way.
