I have bad feelings about this. The GPL version doesn't contain all the possible encoders that LizardTech sell; it does contain the encoders, though. Some free versions of the JBIG2 software (used for compressing single-bit images) have disappeared from the next after their owners decided they could make money from them.


Still be interesting to know what it can squash the book down to though.


doing a highly unscientific estimate (based on a single page from the book as a TIFF being 35163 bytes, and the same data as a djvu file being 15469 bytes), it'd be 10MB as opposed to 23MB.
