IMHO you use it correctly.

It is already disabled!  Note the leading `\%' which does exactly
that.  BTW, the .HTML macro wouldn't help for non-html output.

Using the PS device, I get a blue text.  As soon as color is
implemented for TTYs, this should work quite fine.
