You're right.  I hadn't realized that rounding is not something
done just at the end to get a ``nice'' value, but done at every
step going from one size to the next.  (And ``nice'' also isn't
what I decided to call nice, but apparently an integer millimeter).

Thus, the ``definite'' size of A4 is indeed 210mm x 297mm,
and the value given in the HOWTO (841890) is the correct one.

(The Adobe values mentioned by Stewart seem to be values rounded
to the nearest (PostScript) point.)

Anyhow, the above web page also states that the tolerance is
+/- 2 mm, which makes my demand for precision a bit pointless
anyway.
