[Groff] groff HOWTO: HTML and ASCII vbersions: please review (esp. HTML)

Thanks for pointing me to the web site.  I obtained the newest groff a
little while ago and compiled it up.  I then created an HTML file from
the groff source file.  It was supposed to match the postscript file,
but I forgot to include the index that went with the postscript version.

The HTML doesn't look too bad, but there are some problems:

        second lines in footnotes have the wrong font size

        none of my images appear

        curiously, a reference was split across pages when I could see no
        reason for that to occur.

        the page footers are pushed over to the left (should be left,
        center and right aligned:  there are three items - see the
        postscript)

        the HTML index appeared sooner than I expected in the document
        (compare the two documents)

Otherwise, the tables look pretty good, and equations (in one table) came
out pretty much as they appeared in the postscript version.

Why the images disappeared is curious as my version of ghostscript supports
the default png256 format.

Anyway, please compare the two, and also comment on the content.

PS:  Use gv to look at the postscript version.  When the HOWTO is
finalized, both the HTML and postscript version should be made available (in
my opinion).

I don't know of a postscript to html converter.

The groff command is part of a messy makefile script.  I thought I'd
describe such things in the HOWTO, but haven't gotten that far yet.

I'll try to generate the ASCII version for you.  I just did, and will
append it, plus the HTML version to this note.
