.TH TIBET 1 "1999 June 1" .UC 4 .SH NAME tibet \- Tiny BDF file editor .SH SYNOPSIS .B tibet [ -h | -v ] [\fIbdffile\fP | \fIFBB\fP] .br .SH DESCRIPTION .B Tibet is a tiny BDF file editor running on X. The argument \fIbdffile\fP is a pathname of a BDF file to be edited. When \fBtibet\fP starts, it shows a window for a first 128 glyphs of the font. You can click each glyph to edit it by external \fIbitmap\fP program which should be installed on your system with the normal installation of X window system. See the online help for more detail. The online help is shown by hitting keys `h' or `?'. If \fIbdffile\fP doesn't exist, \fBtibet\fP tries to parse the string as \fIFBB\fP (font bounding box) specification of the format: .IP WIDTH+HEIGHT[+|-]XOFF[+|-]YOFF .PP where, WIDTH, HEIGHT, XOFF, and YOFF are decimal numbers corresponding to four parameters for FONTBOUNDINGBOX line of a new BDF font file to be created. The new BDF file is saved as the name \fIFBB\fP.bdf. .IP Note: WIDTH should be followed by `+', not `*'. .PP .SH OPTIONS .TP 8 .I -h Show a brief help message. .TP .I -v Show a version number. .PP .SH EXAMPLE To edit an existing BDF file etl24-latin1.bdf: .IP % tibet etl24-latin1.bdf .PP To create a new bdf file for a 12x24 dots font whose reference point is 0 dot left and 2 dots upper from the low left corner: .IP % tibet 12+24+0-2 .PP .SH FILES .TP 8 /usr/local/share/tibet/tibet.hlp -- Online help file. .TP /usr/local/share/tibet/\fICHARSET\fP.txt -- Sample text for the character set \fICHARSET\fP. .TP \fIbdffile\fP.work/ -- A working directory created automatically. .PP .SH SEE ALSO bitmap(1), .I X Logical Font Description Conventions .SH BUGS .B Tibet creates a working directory \fIbdffile\fP.work, and remove it on normal exiting. But, if \fBtibet\fP exits abnormally for some reason, the working directory is not removed. In that case, you can restart \fBtibet\fP and hit `G' (get all edited glyphs) to recover what you have done in the previous session. .SH UNRESTRICTIONS .PP .B Tibet is free; anyone may redistribute copies of \fBTibet\fP to anyone under the terms stated in the .I GNU General Public License\fP, a copy of which accompanies each copy of \fBTibet\fP. .SH AUTHOR .PP The first version of \fBtibet\fP was written by Ken-ichi Handa, Electrotechnical Laboratory, Japan in 1 June 1999.
