[Groff] Trouble with man page formatting. |

I'm getting weird hard-to-read formatting of some man pages (named in
particular) and groff seems to be the source of the problem.
If I do "less /usr/man/man8/named.8" everything looks fine, but when I do "man
named" I get output that looks like this...
-----------------
Sets the working directory of the server. The
``directory''
clause of the configuration file's ``options''
statement
overrides any value specified on the command
line. The de-
fault working directory is the current directory
(``.'').
-----------------
The debug output from man shows that man is executing this command...
(cd /usr/man ; (echo -e ".pl 11i"; cat /usr/man/man8/named.8) | /usr/bin/gtbl |
/usr/bin/groff -Tlatin1 -mandoc | /usr/bin/less -is)
I am using man version 1.5g, less version 340, groff 1.11.1, slackware Linux
1.2.13.
Thanks,
Greg
