I'm sending this copy to you in case posting to gnu.groff.bug doesn't
work.
It works -- messages posted to this newsgroup are forwarded to the
address@hidden mailing list.
1. Are there any recognized, usable and reliable forum for groff
things (other than gnu.groff.bug ;-) ? Hopefully somewhere for
just groff/troff including macro packages, so as not to drown in
other stuff.
Yes. Yesterday a list address@hidden has been created. Send
subscribe address@hidden
in the subject line to
address@hidden
for subscription. Hopefully it will work in a few days.
2. I've been using gpic for drawings, but I've found no way of
embedding small pictures *inline* with text, as would typically
be seen in user manuals that says "press KEY", where KEY would
appear as a drawing of the actual key.
It seems it would bit be too hard to write these (and
contribute), but instead of re-inventing the wheel: Has anyone
seen this implemented before? Or am I missing something?
I don't know. Maybe Ted knows an answer.
3. Are there any plans of collecting and structuring available
groff documentation?
Yes. The first thing we will do is to create a CVS server for groff
on cvs.ffii.org (with anonymous read-only access -- again this will
happen in the next few days) with a daily snapshot archive. This
server is located in Munich, Germany. Then we will try to read the
collected bug reports and apply simple patches. The next step will be
then improving -- a rudimentary groff texinfo file does already exist.
