gpspipe output on stdout

To whom it may concern

I'm running gpspipe w/ the -s /<dev> switch. I found out that the output 
is coming through the <dev>, but also via <stdout>. Because I'm running 
the program as service, it pumps my journal log file up. I checked the 
gpspipe code, but I can't find anything writing to <stdout>. So 
who/what/where is writing to <stdout> in parallel?
