You did not mention your gpsd version.

I see nothing wrong.  I am using 3.22.1~dev

The DBT data goes into the TPV sentences.

I looked at your file with "gpsdecode < log.nmea"..

Here is a sample TPV:

Notice it has this:
  
"wangler":354.0,"wspeedr":7.1,"wspeedt":4.0}

That is "Wind Angle Angle Relative", "Wind Speed Relative" and "Wind
Speed True".

Another sentence:

Notice the "depth" which comes from DBT.
