It is a NEO-7P. Baud is 115200. Interface is UART.
I've been working on a Javad using binary GREIS. I can barely manage
4Hz at 115200.
Have you tried capturing the raw data to see if it is all there?
If you can send a copy to this list I can check it for you.
Yes, a lot of data. With that in mind, I configured the NEO-7P to
deliver only the necessary data:
GGA 1
GLL 0
GSA 5
GSV 5
RMC 1
VTG 1
Those GSV can get really big.
So GGA, RMC and VTG are delivered every cycle. GSA and GSV every
fifth cycle. GLL is off.
OK.
What I've tried to do is turn off everything that is not necessary.
What I need are lon, lat, speed, track, epx and epy every cycle. I
could live with altitude updated every second.
OK.
As a result, the only packets being transmitted are GGA, GSA, GSV,
RMC and VTG.
No, you just said the others are in there too, just not at 10Hz.
Is there anything else I could turn off or optimize?
Yeah, turn off 10Hz and go to 4Hz, if only for a test. gpsd
does not handle input buffer overflows well...
