P.S. additionally cgps does not show GPS data when GPDS is started as a service (like GPSD is not listening) but when I tried manual run of gpsd, I was able to see correct output of GPS. What could be the problem?

Iā€™d suspect SystemD not doing the right thing.  There have been other distributions with issues of how SystemD manages gpsD.

Try NOT using SystemD and use an older style init script.

Hello,

I am trying to get GPSD going on Fedora 23. The gps is ublox 6 precision timing eval kit via COM port /dev/ttyS0.

What I did:

* installed gpsd from Fedora.
* added into /sysconfig file options -n /dev/ttyS0.

I have the following main problem:

ā— gpsd.service - GPS (Global Positioning System) Daemon
   Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/gpsd.service; disabled; vendor preset: disabled)
   Active: active (running) since Sat 2016-04-30 14:20:04 EEST; 33s ago
 Main PID: 2608 (gpsd)
   CGroup: /system.slice/gpsd.service
           ā””ā”€2608 /usr/sbin/gpsd -N -n /dev/ttyS0

Apr 30 14:20:04 localhost.localdomain systemd[1]: Started GPS (Global Positioning System) Daemon.
Apr 30 14:20:04 localhost.localdomain systemd[1]: Starting GPS (Global Positioning System) Daemon...
Apr 30 14:20:05 localhost.localdomain gpsd[2608]: gpsd:ERROR: KPPS:/dev/ttyS0 kernel PPS failed Interrupted system call
Apr 30 14:20:08 localhost.localdomain gpsd[2608]: gpsd:ERROR: KPPS:/dev/ttyS0 kernel PPS failed Connection timed out

What could be the reason?
best, Askar
