Did you find a solution that made it possible to actually get
GPS data displayed via gpsd on Raspbian Jessie?
I have totally failed to do so, the only NMEA data I have seen
were when I used the command line to show the output from
/dev/ttyUSB0....

Here are the notes I've /just/ made about getting gpsd to work on Jessie:

This is a serial device connected to GPIO pins 14 and 15.
At the moment, gpsd doesn't auto-start, but I have some leads on that.
