Thank you for the great information. Is there a version where the significant
bug was fixed so that I might be able to determine how bad our issue is?

Yes, this was a significant issue before gcc-4.x.

Upgrade and rebuild. 2.95 is very old; at leastr one significant bug in the
error modeling has been fixed since.
