Eric and friends;
Would it be possible for someone to put together build
instructions for GPSD and the clients that are at an
appropriate level for people who are not Linux build veterans?
There are many things I have mastered in life but building
Linux executables from source using specialised tools
isn't one of them yet.
The only instructions I have found (the file included with
the source) are, in my opinion, not clear or complete.
There are, I suspect, many of us who use gpsd and need to
build a copy for our installation but who are not Linux
code building experts.
If this isn't possible perhaps someone could point me to a
deb package that will work on a x86_64 Ubuntu 10
(2.6.32-40-server) system
Thanks

Hi Roy
build.txt says "To build gpsd for your host platform from
source, simply call `scons` in a working-directory copy."
Then "after building, please run `scons testregress` to test
the correctness of the build." Then "Once you have verified
that the code is working, `scons install` will install it it
in the system directories. `scons uninstall` will undo this."
Seems simple enough to me...?
