wiki requires two username entries?

http://wiki.gnustep.org now requires me to enter a username and 
password into two interstitial pages for every one page edited. This 
is a pain in the backside. Is there a good reason for it?

If it's the recent spam attacks, can that be handled by a blanket 
"type this token" on the same page as the edit instead?
