However, it would be nice if the main page had a small notice on the
actual release version numbers for stable and unstable. I'm pretty sure
I'm not the only one who lost track...

As far as I can tell, stable has higher version numbers than unstable,
right now, 1.6.0 and 0.8.5 (for stable) to 1.5.2 and 0.8.4 (for
unstable) ???
