AFAIK, PNG is the only bitmap file format suitable for the web which also
supports transparency. Kind of raises the browser bar though :( Maybe it'd be
better to re-anti-aliase the files against the desired (websafe) background
colour?
Hold on a second and I'll see if I can manage a quick conversion here at work.
