Nope, you got it right. I intended the subtle version, though, which
means I'd like to see something like:
SED = sed
AWK = awk
etc.
This way your proposed overrides would work and no configuration details
would break, but we'd get the benefit of having gawk or mawk on
platforms where we really need it (as opposed to broken versions of awk
i.e. on Solaris). But you've obviously understood that part. ;-)
