Oh, I haven't yet finished reading and following all the links, but yes,
it looks like you're right! :-(

But, there's a good news! Apparently, something has changed recently:

It's a patch that upstream does not want to integrate, but that can/will
be maintained in Guix!

I'll keep on reading and let you guys know when/if I understand and if it
helps with my GNUnet problem!
