Saw it, it's just strange for me, no idea what's wrong there, maybe the
gettext version of the system is much older than the one we used for
packaging?

That should be fine.

Why is passing the port via "-p" not acceptable?
Note that you can do this by setting
[gns-proxy]
OPTIONS="-p 4444"
in the configuration already. I'm not really opposed to also
having a configuration option, but I don't see why we need it.
