The color that amirouche picked for the logo is #3498db.
I could imagine "rounding" the color code to #3399cc which
looks almost the same. But actually I have no hard feelings
about the color scheme at all. The blue maybe symbolizes
electricity? But what about red.. it reminds me of TRON,
WAR GAMES and 80's arcade games:

This also shows how powerful it is to be able to just
s// the colors in the svg file.. we can actually generate
the logo matching all kinds of color schemes in an automated
fashion. Or generate an entire random color scheme for the
website each time somebody fetches it. Stuff we couldn't
do before SVG came.

Simply take darker amber tones... the previous two look fine to me.
Somewhat enterprise conservative, like an insurance company, but not ugly.

Like many things in gnunet, the official scheme is work in progress.  :)
