In my case took around 4h on both a quite old Core 2 Duo low voltage and the new Core i5 4200 (also low voltage), so it's just that you are particularly unlucky.

It can happen, after all, finding the proof is probabilistic. It was set
to take roughly 6h on an i7 on average, but if your PC is slower and/or
you're unlucky, it can easily take longer.
