- Carlos added passing in possibly bulk-fetched row data w/o
  touching the database in __init__()
- note that some higher level things will be broken until all
  affected child classes are fixed
- however, note that child classes that don't overload __init__()
  are NOT affected and support no-DB init transparently
- changed docs accordingly
- this is the initial bulk-loader work that is hoped to gain
  quite some performance in some areas (think lab results)
