I created a wiki page
http://salaam.homeunix.com/bin/view/Gnumed/EncryptingDevices
and pasted in the text from Syan's first posting, and added a link to
this developer thread.
I added a backlink from
http://salaam.homeunix.com/bin/view/Gnumed/ConfigurePostgreSQL
Karsten, you had subsequently posted
The bootstrapper now supports alternate locations for databases....
Just define
alternate location =
...PGDATA2_GNUMED_V3 must be known to the PostgreSQL server as
an environment variable. If you follow the steps in the PG manual
http://www.postgresql.org/docs/7.4/static/manage-ag-alternate-
locs.html
etc
Where would some reference to this best fit within the topic
ConfigurePostgreSQL
- would it be beneath "related but usually unneeded info?
- does it become more important now, than "unneeded"

Syan, can I tease you into documenting this cryptmount
approach combined with the alternate database location in
the Wiki ?
Thanks,
