I was a contender for this, after I put the raid controller in the machine and
Mandrake relabelled the hard drives, i didn't even have a hda for lilo to
look at.
I put on a number of distros and now have mepis started debian (uses kudzu for
hardware detection which gave it the edge)
My problem is that in my mail I had mailing lists as a subdirectory of a
subdirectory and I didn't copy from those subdirectories (eg /home/liz/Mail/
mailinglists/gnumed) when I burnt the Cd for backup.
However, the change over to Debian and the new software install is sooo easy,
I'll be converting the laptop when the desktop is finally finished.
I still think that Debian should be our 'preferred' distro when we're finally
ready, with livecd install, even though Andreas doesn't think we should force
people to do so.
