I just downloaded GNU Go 3.4 and started to compile it.
During configure I got gazillion times lines like these:
./config.status: line 820: engine/=: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: engine/DEPDIR: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: engine/=: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: engine/DEPDIR: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: engine/=: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: engine/DEPDIR: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: engine/=: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: engine/DEPDIR: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: engine/=: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: engine/DEPDIR: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: engine/=: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: engine/DEPDIR: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: engine/=: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: engine/DEPDIR: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: engine/=: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: engine/DEPDIR: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: engine/=: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: interface/debugboard/DEPDIR: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: interface/debugboard/=: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: interface/debugboard/DEPDIR: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: interface/debugboard/=: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: interface/debugboard/DEPDIR: Is a directory
./config.status: line 820: interface/debugboard/=: Is a directory
It looks like this, if I open that config.status to Vim and give command
":set nu"
812 }
813 /^DEP_FILES = / s/^DEP_FILES = //p' < "$mf" | \
814 sed -e 's/\$(DEPDIR)/'"$DEPDIR"'/g' -e 's/\$U/'"$U"'/g'`; do
815 # Make sure the directory exists.
816 test -f "$dirpart/$file" && continue
817 fdir=`echo "$file" | sed -e 's|/[^/]*$||'`
818 $ac_aux_dir/mkinstalldirs "$dirpart/$fdir" > /dev/null 2>&1
819 # echo "creating $dirpart/$file"
820 echo '# dummy' > "$dirpart/$file"
821 done
822 done
823 ;;
824 esac
825 done
826
827 { (exit 0); exit 0; }
Directories seems a little bit weird. Here is output of "tree sgf":
sgf
|-- =
|-- DEPDIR
|-- DEPDIR = .deps
|-- Makefile
|-- Makefile.am
|-- Makefile.in
|-- libsgf.a
|-- sgf.dsp
|-- sgf_extras.def
|-- sgf_properties.def
|-- sgf_properties.h
|-- sgf_utils.c
|-- sgf_utils.o
|-- sgfgen
|-- sgfgen.c
|-- sgfgen.dsp
|-- sgfgen.o
|-- sgfnode.c
|-- sgfnode.o
|-- sgftree.c
|-- sgftree.h
`-- sgftree.o
3 directories, 19 files
Those first three lines look weird. Is that intentional? Those subdirs
are seen at other dirs, too.
At least command "make" goes fine, and "make check, too". After install
program seems to work just fine.
I use GNU stow and stowES for compiling. You can find stowES via
Freshmeat.net, but I think it does not matter, if you use just plain stow.
I used these commands:
stowES untar gnugo-3.4.tar.bz2
stowES mk /tmp/gnugo-3.4/
stowES mkin /tmp/gnugo-3.4/
stowES ci gnugo-3.4
I also have environment variable POSIXLY_CORRECT set.
What else you need to know? I use Debian GNU/Linux version testing, but
I have gazillion packages from unstable.
