Dear sir,
While reading through the docs that came with gnue-designer, i noticed a few
things missing in the readme:
- Under Requirements it is stated that only GNUe Common and GNUe Forms are
required. While this is probably true for running the designer, you do also
need make to be able to install the designer. It wouldn't hurt to mention
that you need to be root to do that as it might as well have been a
user-space app.
- Under Requirements it is also stated that you need GNUe Forms
(wxPython-version). Looking though the (debian) downloads i see no different
Forms files with or without wxPython in the name or an explanation referring
to it.
- Under Compatability it is stated that it is succesfully tested on Debian
GNU/Linux. Though i have installed designer on both debian etch and lenny
using the repo mentioned on your site, it won't run on any of these 2
systems:
$ gnue-designer
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/gnue-designer", line 30, in ?
from gnue.designer import Designer
ImportError: No module named designer
Same error in both cases. (etch and lenny) Yes, forms and common are
succesfully installed and forms is working as expected. So maybe the systems
on which you have succesfully installed the designer had packages installed
that are not mentioned or some configfile needs to be created first?
Regards
Rody
