Follow-up Comment #1, task #15901 (project gnuastro):

I stumbled upon emacs bash completion
<https://github.com/szermatt/emacs-bash-completion> project while working on a
bug fix. This project adds the auto completion feature to emacs shell
environment. This might prove useful later :)
