It is strange that you had to install CFITSIO before being able to run
'testprog'! It is against the whole purpose of the test (you should test a
software and see if it works *before* installing it!
But generally, this support item is mostly for very general introductory
issues, its best to discuss detailed technical issues in their own separate
"tasks" and "bugs". So can you please post this as a bug, while also showing
the error that happens when you don't have CFITSIO installed?
