[Gnu-arch-users] tla inventory to a single file

Why does `tla inventory' only apply to directories?
I end up having to use

  tla inventory --source . | grep "^<file>"

but when the directory is near the top, it becomes a very costly way to
find out whether a file is source or not.
Would it be difficult to allow

  tla inventory <file>
