currently GNOWSYS doesnt work on version of zope higher than 2.6.3.
if you want to use 2.7 or 2.8 please wait for another month or so.

The error that you are getting is related to path calculation on
windows, may be you can edit and supply the actual value in GNOWSYS.py
file. since we tested mostly in GNU/Linux and other Unix machines,
and we dont have good experience on Windows PCs. If you are only
interested in TM not having the math functions in the db will not be a
problem at all.

Installation instructions are actually available at
http://www.gnowledge.org/GNOWSYS/, our site is currently down since we
are updating vast data from wordnet and wikipedia, this will go on
till monday. Meanwhile I am attaching the instruction in html with this mail.

In order to install GNOWSYS, you need a working installation of ZOPE. Till this document is completely written, please follow the instructions about how to install Zope from their site. We have tested the application on version 2.51 onwards. Please do not use ZOPE versions higher than 2.6.3 ti\ll we remove this warning.

It should work on all the operating systems where, Python and Zope also run. Our development environment is Debian GNU/Linux.

You also need the Zope product, Transparent Folder for GNOWSYS versions upto 0.5. You can download it from TransparentFolder.

For version 0.6 and the future versions will depend on another Zope product called BTreefolders2. Please download this from Shane Hathaway's website or from ZOPE site from P\roducts directory. Transparent folders is not required for 0.6 onwards.

After obtaining and installing BTreeFolder2, (or Transparent Folder for lower versions), the distribution file (GNOWSYS-x.x\-x.tgz) should be exploded in the `lib/python/Products/' directory of Zope. After extracting the distributed files, make sure the `GNOWSYS' directory exists at `lib/python/Products/GNOWSYS'. The absolute path depends on where you have installed Zope. After exploding the `tgz' file, restart zope server .

Visit the Zope Management Interface, and add the product `GNOWSYS' or `GNOWSYS06' depending on the version. After that direct your browser to the folder where it is installed (indicated by a blue ring icon ) and click on the name of \GNOWSYS instance made. You should see the GNOWSYS application interphase, which is very similar to this site. Explore from the menu. Use `Manage\' link to add objects to gnowledge base. Please also read other `howto' documents on this site to get an idea about how to make your gnowledge base.
