Not really; adding other third party applications might make them more
popular more tested and maybe more mature.

There are plenty of ways, correct, but why shouldn't we have our own
themes? GNOME is themeable and we should use this fact to create a
really good-looking desktop. My opinion is just that we should provide
our own look to make people think of GNOPPIX is they see a desktop with
these themes (as I think of Ximian if I see Industrial based themes).
