Hi, I am sure this has been asked before so I apologise in advance. I have just installed gnokii Version 0.6.29 on Debian Linux DLS022C00 2.6.32-5-amd64 #1 SMP Tue Jun 14 09:42:28 UTC 2011 x86_64 GNU/Linux. I would like to use a Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. Lockfile /var/lock/LCK..ttyS0 is stale. Overriding it... Telephone interface init failed: Command timed out. Quitting. Command timed out. This happens whether I use USB0 USB1 or USB2 which incidentally are the only 3 defined /dev/ttyUSB on my system although it has 5 USB ports (it is an Acer Aspire EasyStore H-340M. I have managed to send and receive SMS via windows gnokii using this modem so I know the modem is sound. Can some kind person please advise me how to proceed, please.
