I think there is a '&' too mutch in common/gsm-sms.c:

*** common/gsm-sms.c    Sun Apr 14 01:33:47 2002
--- common/gsm-sms.c~   Sun Apr 14 01:33:38 2002
***************
*** 1520,1526 ****
   */
  void DefaultSMS(GSM_SMSMessage *SMS)
  {
!       memset(SMS, 0, sizeof(GSM_SMSMessage));

        SMS->Type = SMS_Deliver;
        SMS->DCS.Type = SMS_GeneralDataCoding;
--- 1520,1526 ----
   */
  void DefaultSMS(GSM_SMSMessage *SMS)
  {
!       memset(&SMS, 0, sizeof(GSM_SMSMessage));

        SMS->Type = SMS_Deliver;
        SMS->DCS.Type = SMS_GeneralDataCoding;

BTW: I use a 6210 phone, but I cannot send and receive any SMS, not
with gnokii nor with smsd. are there any hints? I use the cvs-version

Thanks
