Sorry, I was able to set up a log file and the contents were the
following:
> XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /home/dennis/tor-browser_en-US/Browser/libxul.so:
> /home/dennis/tor-browser_en-US/Browser/libxul.so: undefined symbol:
> gdk_window_get_visual
> Couldn't load XPCOM.
Seems like an error with gdk
